Some people are more scared of public speaking than they are of death, according to a recent study. This never made sense to me because I’ve always enjoyed giving speeches in public. I’m afraid of a lot of things, but one of them is public speaking.

Giving a speech, particularly on a topic about which I am enthusiastic, really energizes me. I’m quite aware that I’m an outlier. The majority of people despise public speaking.

And whether you like it or not, you will be required to give a speech at some point, whether it is for a college class, a job presentation, or your best friend’s wedding.

You’ll have to talk in front of an audience! Before you panic, we may have a tool that can make your public speaking experience a little easier.

CBD Oil can Alleviate Your Anxiety

For many years, scientists have been researching CBD’s anxiolytic (anti-anxiety) properties. CBD has piqued the curiosity of researchers since it appears to have no harmful side effects, even at very high dosages!

Cannabidiol (CBD) is a non-psychoactive cannabinoid found in marijuana plants. It does not cause euphoria. THC is in charge of this.

Many people enjoy smoking marijuana with a high THC content because the high it provides relaxes them. They enjoy getting high because it allows them to unwind.

We’re all for THC if it works for you! Researchers first became interested in using CBD for anxiety when they noticed that CBD was decreasing the high brought on by THC. The researchers thought: “Hmmm…if CBD kills the psychoactive effects of THC, maybe CBD could kill the anxious thoughts and increased psychoactivity of people suffering from anxiety!”

If you’re anything like me, however, the THC in marijuana makes you even more concerned. THC does not relax me; instead, it causes my thoughts to race excessively. My thoughts become overactive and disorganized as a result. As a result, I don’t smoke marijuana nearly as much as I used to. Smart for sure.

CBD has much less bad side effects than the majority of anti-anxiety drugs provided by doctors, so it’s definitely worth looking into. One of the more intriguing studies on the use of CBD oil for anxiety focused on public speaking anxiety.

The researchers took the following steps:

  • The study’s volunteers were instructed to prepare a four-minute speech on a topic from a course they had taken that year.
  • They were informed that the speech would be recorded and analysed by a psychologist later.

Each participant delivered the speech while watching a video of themselves on a monitor.

The Visual Analogue Mood Scale was used to determine their levels of anxiety (VAMS).

Anxiety, physical sensations, mental drowsiness, and feelings of interest are all measured by the VAMS test. These factors were examined at five different times: baseline (before the speech), right before the instructions were given, right before the speech was delivered, in the middle of the speech, and right after the speech was delivered. The subjects’ heart rate and blood pressure were also assessed by the researchers. The subjects were given one of four medications at random: 300 mg of CBD, 5 mg of isapirone (a depression/anxiety research chemical), 10 mg of diazepam (Valium), or a placebo.

The results were astounding, demonstrating how beneficial CBD may be for anxiety. Volunteers who were given CBD, diazepam (Valium), or azapirones had lower anxiety and systolic blood pressure. The volunteers who were given diazepam (Valium) felt physically sedated.

Physical sleepiness, mental sedation, or other unpleasant side effects were not experienced by volunteers who received CBD with azapirones. The study found that CBD can help people cope with anxiety while causing no negative side effects. Which would you prefer to take: Valium (which might make you foggy or sleepy and requires a prescription), or azapirones (which I’m not sure you’d be able to get your hands on quickly… plus it’s difficult to say! ), or CBD (an all-natural, over-the-counter plant medicine that’s been around since before Christ’s time)?

I know which one I’d choose. I would never choose a manmade drug with negative side effects over a plant-based treatment. CBD Kai recommends that you try some CBD gummies as a starter. Start with one every 4 hours and see how you feel. Maybe it will work for you as well.
